As a participant in the US social forum, facilitating panels and participatory strategy sessions on Food Sovereignty, and also on Racism and Migration in the Dominican Republic, I found the US Social Forum to be an excellent event. There was ample diversity, the participation was grassroots to a large degree, and the youth far outnumbered those 45 or older (as I am). I have been to the WSF in Brazil, Venezuela, and Kenya and to the US South East Social Forum in Durham, NC.

Thanks to fabulous work done by the tech team volunteers we not only have a media outlet for people but we also have one of the smoothest registration processes out of any of the large social forums. This is a monumental achievement and thanks to the tireless efforts of those volunteering with the social forum we were able to register thousands of people in a breeze.

I GIVE THANKS to SOMEONE who posed the question to me, "Shouldn't indigent individuals, regardless of their nationally, get health care that they deserve?!" Why should America foot the bill for folks have not signed the papers of becoming legal citizens?? Without being a bonified tax payer, how can they expect to reap any of the rewards?? Illegal foreigners are already draining our system and cause our institutions to shut down and this has to stop.

Busloads of Protestors Gather at Wal-Mart By Julie Straw A better working environment, higher wages, and health benefits. That's what protestors are asking Wal-Mart to start delivering to its employees. They came by the busloads. Men and Women from several states gathered outside the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clinton, protesting the company's treatment of its employees. "Everyone asks me if this is a union issue and this isn't a union issue, to us it is a human issue," said Teri Caben.
