Session Description

This is a full audience participation event, where participants will work together to create an environmental justice model for protecting our right to a healthy environment that replaces the current governmental system of so-called “environmental protection,” which perpetuates and facilitates environmental racism. Participants will able to offer their perspectives and new standards for protecting the human rights to life, health, non-discrimination, racial equality, and a healthy environment. Through this exercise, participants will be able to gain insight into the purpose and function of the current environmental regulatory system; how this system devastates communities of color; and how it can be reformed to protect human rights.

The language of this event will be conducted in English. We would like information from the USSF organizers on how we can provide interpretation equipment (headsets and transmitters). Hand-out materials will be provided in English and Spanish.
