Organization Description

Revolution / Revolución -- the bilingual voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party -- takes as its mission sharply exposing the inner workings of this so-called "best of all possible worlds." Revolution shows how all the oppressive things in society things are tied to a particular system that is based on exploiting the labor of billions of people all over the world. a system that is fundamentally worthless . And, Revolution shows how all this is particularly outrageous, since the world doesn’t have to be this way .The mission of Revolution is also to enable its readers to make a scientific assessment and analysis of all events in society and the world. -- to see how all different strata and classes respond to the events of the day. Revolution aims to be a living link between all that we are doing now, the work and struggle against the injustices of this system at any given point and our final goal of a communist world, and to bring the masses of people into the whole revolutionary process —to be at the center of a big conversation about what is the core problem in the world and the essential solution to that problem.

Session Description

Globalization and War:

This panel will examine the roots, agenda, and trajectory of the U.S. "war on terror," discussing its link to global capitalism generally as well as the specific needs and objectives of U.S. imperialism in the post-Soviet world.

It will explore how these deeper dynamics helped drive the Bush administration’s invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

It will also examine the current state of the Bush doctrine and its ongoing occupations, and the continuing danger of escalation in the Middle East, against Iran in particular.

Explore and discuss with the panel why is there a gap between the resistance to the war and the crimes of the Bush regime? Why is the resistance not commensurate with where the Bush Administration is taking the world and how are we going to change this?
