As a participant in the US social forum, facilitating panels and participatory strategy sessions on Food Sovereignty, and also on Racism and Migration in the Dominican Republic, I found the US Social Forum to be an excellent event. There was ample diversity, the participation was grassroots to a large degree, and the youth far outnumbered those 45 or older (as I am). I have been to the WSF in Brazil, Venezuela, and Kenya and to the US South East Social Forum in Durham, NC.
